University of Missouri University of Missouri’s alcohol policy for their tailgate functions is comparable to Missouri State University’s. Mizzou’s Rules and Regulations handbook states under the alcohol policy on page 8 that â€Å"Students and their guests are not permitted to consume, manufacture, use, possess, sell, or distribute alcohol in or on the premises of the University-owned or –operated residential or dining locations, regardless of their age.† As well, stated under Mizzou’s tailgating policy they state that tailgating is a longstanding tradition before Mizzou football contests, built on the tradition of enjoying the fellowship of friends, the Mizzou Spirit, and great Mizzou Football. The University of Missouri and Mizzou Athletics encourage responsible tailgating in an effort to enhance the game day experience, ensure a safe game day atmosphere to all fans, and preserve the beauty of campus.
